Naslov: Random Communication Systems

Povzetek: Random communication systems are an emerging class of communication techniques that use random or noise-like signals as carriers of information, rather than relying on traditional periodic waveforms like sinusoids. By embedding data into random waveforms—such as pseudo-random sequences, chaotic signals, or noise processes—these systems offer unique advantages in terms of security, interference resistance, and low detectability.

Unlike conventional systems, which treat noise as an obstacle, random communication systems intentionally harness randomness as a part of the signal structure. This approach is particularly useful in environments with high interference or where secure and covert communication is essential. Applications range from spread spectrum systems and ultra-wideband communication to more advanced methods using non-Gaussian noise, such as alpha-stable distributions, for greater robustness and stealth.

This lecture discusses the background and core principles behind random communication systems, explores how randomness can be structured for reliable data transmission, and highlights the potential benefits and challenges of designing communication systems.
