Recognition of foreign higher education qualifications

Foreign candidates/those who have finished their undergraduate degree at a faculty outside of the Republic of Slovenia go through the process of recognition of their foreign higher education qualifications.

The procedure for the recognition of foreign qualifications for master’s studies begins with the application for admission. The applicant submits the diploma, the diploma supplement, and translations if required. The procedure is carried out by authorized staff members at the faculties.

The following documents are required for the recognition of foreign qualifications for the purpose of continuing studies at a master’s level at the University of Ljubljana:

  1. Scan/photograph of the diploma (all pages of the document);
  2. Scan/photograph of the diploma supplement, or other evidence of the content and duration of the studies and of the requirements fulfilled during the studies, as well as a translation into Slovene, if requested by the higher education institution (please check with the authorised persons or directly with the higher education institution to which you are submitting your application whether a translation of the documents is required);
  3. Scan/photograph of a chronological record of the applicant’s education abroad, signed by the applicant.
