Climate change in Slovenia is already causing frequent heatwaves, fires, floods, and prolonged droughts, which affect agriculture, forestry, biodiversity, water resources, human health, and infrastructure. Although the country has already invested considerably in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the past, the field of adaptation is only now receiving appropriate attention, with a clear goal, to protect people, nature, and infrastructure. The project builds on the Strategic Framework for Climate Change Adaptation, adopted in 2016, and represents a key step toward Slovenias systemic and long-term resilience. By involving 14 partners and 5 associated organisations from the scientific, administrative, non-governmental, and local spheres, the project will, by 2032, promote cooperation, knowledge, and strengthened action at all levels of governance.
