Lectures:
Real functions (graph, composite, inverse function, elementary functions, continuity).
Derivatives (definition, derivatives of elementary functions, rules of derivation, use of derivatives).
Integration (indefinite and definite integrals, techniques of integration, evaluation of definite integrals, use of integrals).
Introduction to mathematical modelling, modelling errors and errors due to numerical computations.
Dynamical models (modelling with differential equations and systems of differential equations, examples of initial and boundary problems).
Solving differential equations of first order.
Numerical methods for solving differential equations and examples.
Laboratory exercises:
Individual problem-solving in a computer environment using concepts that students learn in lectures.
Analyzing stability of numerical methods used with the use of theoretical background.
