The consortium joins the partners, who work on a high priority IT field, the highest number from the fields of the networking systems. It employs 400 researchers and developers from six small businesses, four middle-size enterprises and seven research organisations. As a result, it offers a cutting edge know-how on security, mobile applications and terminals, identity management, data processing, quality assurance, high availability computation, service-oriented architectures, infrastructures, etc. The partners in the consortium are the IT enterprises covering business, logistics, medical and environmentalist informational systems. We also pay a lot of attention to the knowledge transfer systems.

The main aim is to develop services and products in the field of cloud computing. Research and construction skills are focused on the following topics: safety, mobility, multi-tenancy, identity management, security, data management and open interfaces. This knowledge will be used as assistive technology for the construction of a new generation of applications for installation and implementation of a computer cloud. Among the application areas, the following will receive special attention: distributed processes, product management, development of knowledge, health and the environment. All these skills will be upgraded with the services and products that will situated in the global marketplace. One of the key goals of KC is to penetrate the international markets with a greater number of services and products.

KC is based on the development of appropriate competencies of each partner and their interconnection. KC promotes activities with the help of the international involvement of its members. International involvement of KC will be increased by memberships in international organizations (such as Cloud Security Alliance) and standardization bodies and by participation in international events in the field of cloud computing. KC Management is be based on long experience of the consortium members, who have already participated in many international projects and made many services and products for global corporations. In addition to internal guidance and supervisory bodies, formed by members of the consortium, we place special emphasis on external control of both research and technological content, to ensure excellence in research and development. One of the key tasks of KC is to provide the flow of knowledge from research organizations in business and in this services and products.

Our program brings together all the key organizations in Slovenia dealing with cloud computing, and has also broad support for industry as well as support from international organizations. The program includes a critical mass of knowledge and includes various disciplines of computer science to develop innovative services and products.
