Information technologies are evermore present in the field of farming. Similarly as in business sector or public administration information technologies are becoming an essential tool in the field of farming operations and management. Farms are required to adhere to different regulations and directives regarding reporting (e.g. EU directive FADN). The project is based on the assumption that farmers have and use smart mobile devices. The level of internet use in rural areas is relatively high. However, it is mostly used for entertainment and not for business. Regulatory framework and requirements for optimization of farm management are major challenges that farmers are facing nowadays. On the basis of these assumptions we believe that farmers will enter data promptly using smart mobile devices with specially adapted ergonomic mobile applications rather than enter data in a desktop computer at the end of their workday. Special care will be given to the efficiency through the use of a wide spectre of easy-to-use mobile applications.
