The project, carried out by undergraduate students in cooperation with XLAB d.o.o, was focused on finding how much certain methods for analysis of massive data about prospective customers can be accelerated by using distributed and heterogeneous computing. By implementing several analytical methods on different heterogeneous systems enhanced by GPUs or Intel Xeon Phi subsystems, students demonstrated that the data, acquired by XLAB mostly from various social networks, can be analysed an order of magnitude faster compared with the existing XLAB sequential implementation.
