The new academic year at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science will begin on Thursday, 1st of October 2026, with a welcome event for first-year students enrolled in the first-cycle study programmes.

The reception for first-year undergraduate students will take place in Lecture Hall 1 according to the following schedule:

• 11:00 – for students of the University first-cycle study programme Computer and Information Science and students of the interdisciplinary programme Computer Science and Mathematics
• 13:00 – for students of the Professional first-cycle study programme Computer and Information Science

The reception will be held in Slovene. At the event, students will receive all the necessary information about their studies, study rules, and other activities at the faculty.

The reception for international students enrolled at UL FRI will take place at 12:00 in Lecture Room P03. At the event, international students will receive key information about studying at the faculty, administrative procedures, and student life at UL FRI.

Before the start of the academic year, international students also had the opportunity to attend the University of Ljubljana's Welcome Day for international students, which took place online on 16 September 2026. A recording of the event is available here..

Afternoon Programme – University Welcome to First-Year Students

The University of Ljubljana (UL), together with the Student Council of UL (ŠS UL), is once again organizing the traditional Welcome to First-Year Students event on Thursday, 1th of October 2026, from 16.00 to 21.00. The musical programme will be provided by the bands DEMM and Smetnaki.

Students will be welcomed from the stage by UL Rector Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič, President of the UL Student Council Mr. Maksim Miklič, and the Mayor of the City of Ljubljana Mr. Zoran Janković. They will be joined on stage by the deans of UL’s 23 faculties and three academies.
