Members of the Strategic Council and representatives of faculty management from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science (FRI) met on 5 April at the inaugural session of the FRI Strategic Council.
The FRI Strategic Council was appointed by the Dean of the FRI and functions as an advisory body for the Dean. An independent external view and suggestions based on professional expertise are vitally important for achieving the vision of this faculty, which seeks to be among the leaders in its field in central and south-eastern Europe, and to contribute to the development of the environment in which it operates.
The members of the Strategic Council are experienced and established experts from various fields: Professor Horst Bischof, Boris Novak, Robert Trnovec, Dr Mark Pleško and Dr Jana Babnik-Gomišček. Through their experience and proposals, they will contribute to better, more well founded decisions for the further development of the faculty.
FRI management used the inaugural session to offer a brief presentation of all areas of the faculty's work, its main focuses and the management's expectations regarding the Strategic Council's work. The members of the Strategic Council agreed on the future direction of the council's work and submitted a number of proposals to make the work of the faculty more effective.
