At the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana (UL FRI), the international conference AI for Science will take place from September 22 to 26, 2025.

The Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Society (SLAIS), in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana, the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), and the University of Nova Gorica, will organize the 28th edition of the traditional international conference Discovery Science. This year, the conference will last five days and will be co-located with other events and special thematic sessions.

Researchers and staff from UL FRI are closely involved in the organization of the event. The organizing committee is chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Vida Groznik, while the program committees of the individual sections are chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Aleksander Sadikov (AI & Life Sciences) and Professor Dr. Marko Robnik Šikonja together with Research Fellow Dr. Špela Arhar Holdt (AI & Digital Humanities).

The conference will bring together researchers, leading AI experts, and scientists who use artificial intelligence to tackle complex problems in their respective fields. Its goal is to showcase the latest developments in the application of AI across scientific disciplines, promote collaboration between academia and industry, and support the continued advancement of artificial intelligence in Europe and beyond.

AI4Science 2025: Specialized Tracks

AI4Science 2025 features nine specialized tracks covering cutting-edge AI applications across scientific disciplines. Each track will showcase the latest research developments and provide networking opportunities with leading experts in the field.

Call for Late-Breaking Contributions

The organizers are currently accepting late-breaking contributions across all nine tracks. Researchers with recent breakthrough results are encouraged to submit their work by August 30, 2025. Submissions will undergo a fast-track peer-review process, with notifications sent within one week.

Early Bird Registration Closes August 8

Early registration is open until August 8, offering a discount of 18%. After this date, regular registration fees will apply. Attendees are encouraged to register early to secure the reduced rate.
