Many enthusiastic students interested in earning a PhD, attended the information day for the doctoral programme in Computer and Information Science.

The study programme is designed to appeal to young people, especially those who plan on pursuing research and scientific work in computer science and informatics.

The programme was presented by the Vice Dean for Research Prof. Tomaž Curk, PhD, and Programme Coordinator Prof. Danijel Skočaj, PhD.

Seminars and elective courses are designed to lead students through their research and to encourage them to write scientific papers. It is recommended that students choose the field of research and find an appropriate PhD advisor as soon as possible.

At the end of the presentation a successful former student and a current doctoral student shared their experiences. Miha Štajdohar earned his PhD in 2012 and is currently CTO and co-founder of the company Genialis. Alja Isaković is a 1^st year doctoral student who previously worked in a startup business and then decided to upgrade her knowledge and skills in doctoral studies.

Faculty of Computer Science also offers students a variety of opportunities for employment and thereby helps students to further their careers.
